I.    Innovation and Education

Construction has changed over the past half century just as  has most of society.  Computers, communication devices, creation of “blueprints”, tools and equipment, systems to organize and store project documents and the understanding of how buildings work as complex, integrated systems have had and are still having a major impact on the construction industry. We pride ourselves on being on the forefront of change in our industry. We have won national awards recognizing this spirit in our team. We have highly educated employees that routinely attend workshops and seminars on the latest developments. We spend time carefully researching new products and systems before incorporating them into our projects. Education, research and innovation are part of our DNA as a company.

II.    A Passion for Healthy, Energy-Efficient Buildings

We have experience building some of the greenest buildings in the country, including a recently completed, 4 condo Platinum LEED for Homes project in downtown Santa Barbara. We are members of the US Green Building Council  and have nine LEED Accredited Professionals on staff. We conduct performance testing on all our buildings prior to their completion to ensure that they are energy-efficient, comfortable and healthy. Our projects account for 44 of the 154 projects submitted to the Santa Barbara Built Green Certification Program.

It’s not always easy to make construction decisions for your home  or office.  We can help you select the appropriate products and systems  – ones that are healthy, energy-efficient, and cost effective.

III. Top Level Supervision

Several layers of supervision on every project, at no additional cost to clients, assures that multiple sets of eyes are checking every aspect of a project. This accounts for the long term relationships and friendships being the norm with past clients.

IV.  An Employee – Owned Company

Since the company was first incorporated three decades ago, it has been solely owned by Dennis Allen and his wife.  Beginning in 2006, they started putting a portion of the company’s annual profits into an account for the employees to purchase stock in the company.  In December 2009, the employees made their first purchase of stock and have each year since.  The vision is for the company to be fully employee owned within the next decade.

Employee ownership means enhanced involvement, caring, and engagement by all  employees. This translates into higher productivity and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction by all employees.
