Lucas is motivated by a desire to help people increase their quality of life while living in greater harmony with the natural environment. High performance homes are the perfect place to combine his knowledge, experience, and interests.
His fascination with creating a profitable green economy began while Lucas was earning a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from UCLA. After graduating from UCLA, Lucas founded the non-profit BeyondFire Institute, which focused on educating people about the importance of moving beyond a fossil fuel based economy. His next step was to attend the Bren School at UCSB and complete a Masters of Environmental Science and Management, with a specialization in Eco-Entrepreneurship and Green Building. After a brief stint in clean tech venture capital, Lucas found his way into home performance by getting certified as a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst. Lucas enjoys the process of helping people make their homes healthy, safe, comfortable, and affordable for their friends and family.
Lucas is a committed road cyclist, hiker, and board sport enthusiast. He is also a family man and loves spending time with his dog. He serves on the Board of Directors for the local chapter of the United States Green Building Council and he tries to remain balanced through yoga and cooking.
