Randy was born in Izmir, Turkey. His first job in the building field was delivering paint and glass by bicycle to construction sites in his home town at the age of 11. When he immigrated to the US in 1979, Randy spoke a number of languages, but no English. He served in the US Army for six years, mainly to learn English.
Before coming to Allen Associates, Randy worked as an on-site property manager for a 190 unit apartment complex, where he learned plumbing, carpentry, painting, renovation and management skills. He also worked for a real estate company where he managed 300 properties. After getting his real estate license, Randy started his own business providing the real estate industry and individual property owners with tenant improvements and handyman services.
Randy joined Allen Associates in 2001 as a technician for its new Building Care & Repair (BCR) Division. Due to his unique background and high level of skills, Randy became BCR’s Division Manager in 2005. On average, BCR bids on 130 jobs and completes 80 jobs in varying sizes a year. Not only does Randy field the calls, he estimates and runs the jobs and prepares the billings. Because of the number of happy clients Randy has, a large portion of BCR’s work comes from repeat and referral customers.
When not on the job, you can find Randy fishing and hunting with his son (appropriately named) Fisher, camping and traveling with his wife Marilyn, or competing in national shot gun sporting events.
