The US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) certification program is the most rigorous green building
standard in the country. Allen Associates, with five LEED Accredited
Professionals on staff, can help facilitate your LEED building project.
In addition to constructing your LEED project, LEED services we provide
include:

  • navigating the LEED certification process from start to finish
  • providing expertise on green building options that meet the LEED criteria
  • serving as the required LEED Accredited Professional for your project
  • coordinating your LEED project team
  • documenting LEED compliance

We are currently working on or have completed projects in the following categories:

Our Featured LEED Platinum Projects:


Tipton elevation Tipton Meeting House

The Tipton Meeting House, a 3,800 sq. ft. conference center/meeting space at the
University of California's Sedgwick Reserve, will be used by the University and the
general public for educational programs including scientific research, youth educa-
tion, and community outreach. The building will be awarded a Platinum certification
under the LEED for New Construction rating program.
Green features include:

  • Photovoltaic system to provide 75% of project's electrical needs
  • Solar water heating for domestic water needs
  • Concrete with 30% fly ash
  • Geothermal heat pump for heating and cooling
  • Icynene insulation
  • High performance windows and skylights
  • Extensive use of natural lighting (clerestories, skylights, nano doors, etc.)
  • Recycled metal roof with reflective properties (cool roof coatings)
  • Use of FSC lumber
  • Entry mats to improve indoor air quality
  • Rainwater collection system
  • "Natural Pave" permeable paving system
  • Detailed erosion control and oak tree protection plans
  • Construction Waste Management Plan will reduce landfill waste by 90%

This four unit condominium project,
currently under construction in downtown
Santa Barbara, will be awarded a Platinum
certification under the LEED for Homes
rating program. Some of its unique green
elements include:

  • 90% reduction of energy use over
    current energy code (Title 24) through:
    - passive solar design
    - high performance windows
    - extra insulation
    - solar water heating
  • 100% of electricity produced by an on site photovoltaic system
  • Water usage cut by 40% through:
    - efficient plumbing fixtures
    - rainwater catchments
    - retention of all storm water on site
  • Hydraulic car lifts to reduce space for parking by half
  • All lumber from sustainably harvested forests (FSC Lumber)
  • Low-emitting materials, including: adhesives, sealants, paints, coatings,
    and carpet systems

West Coast Asset Management West Coast Asset Mgmt Schematic

The project owners envision that their efforts to
turn their building into a showcase for energy
efficiency and green building practices will inspire
other owners in Montecito's Coast Village Road
neighborhood to do the same. The existing 4,000
square foot, 3-story, office building, which will be
awarded a Platinum certification under the LEED
for Commercial Interiors rating system, includes
the following exemplary green features:

  • Alternative transportation options for employees
    and guests including: convenience to bus stops, on-site bike racks, and electric car
    recharging stations
  • Increased water efficiency from low-flow faucets & showers, and dual-flush toilets
  • Optimized energy efficiency through high efficient lighting controls, HVAC
    equipment, and Energy Star-rated appliances
  • Environmentally preferable building materials, including: regional materials,
    materials with recycled content, rapidly renewable materials, and certified wood
  • Low-emitting materials, including: adhesives, sealants, paints, coatings, and
    carpet systems
  • Designed for occupant thermal comfort
  • Designed to provided daylight and views for occupants
  • Green cleaning service and informational materials about building's
    green features
