Exterior Day This uniquely constructed, contemporary home is centered around a site-built, glass-enclosed "breeze space," blurring the boundary between interior and exterior spaces. |
Home Delivery The modular units flanking the "breeze space" were built at a factory in Tacoma - including the framing, insulation, electrical, flooring, tiles, walls and plumbing components - then transported to Santa Barbara on flatbed trucks and craned into place on the foundation. |
Living Room Every aspect of this home incorporates green building elements from the basic design to the operating systems to the finish products. |
Breezespace at Night Large retracting glass doors on both sides of the living room open to allow natural breezes to cool the home. Abundant natural light reduces the need for supplemental lighting during the day. |
Outdoor Spaces Native drought tolerant plants and sandstone boulders found on site, create a sustainable landscape reminiscent of a walk through the Santa Barbara foothills. Rooftop rainwater is collected into downspouts and discharged into the adjacent channelized creek. |
Kitchen Green features in the kitchen include cabinets made with FSC maple doors and wheatboard boxes, engineered oak floors and zero VOC paints. |
