April 2013 – Our national award winning project located in the Spanish Hills of Camarillo is the cover story in the Home & Garden issue of Ventana Monthly. This home recently won top honors from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry’s (NARI) Contractor of the Year Award Program in the Entire House over $1 Million category. The project won a separate award for its green building and sustainability features.
Spring/Summer 2013 – Dining and Destinations Magazine tells the story of our LEED for Homes Platinum Project, Victoria Garden Mews - a model of sustainability. The article describes how Dennis Allen’s vision to create a project that would push the limits of green building and allow a small group of friends to enjoy a satisfying lifestyle in an urban setting became a reality. January 2013 – One of our recent award winning residential remodels is the cover story in this month’s Qualified Remodeler Magazine. “A Wave of the Tropics in Santa Barbara” describes the client’s goals for the project and how they were creatively accomplished by Neumann Mendro Andrulaitus Architects and Allen Associates Construction. This home won a Gold Medal (Whole House Remodel $200,000 – $500,000) and the Judges’ Vision Award in the 2012 Master Design Awards competition.

June 13, 2012 – Wall Street Journal article – “The Shared Backyard” – showcases our LEED for Homes Platinum Project, Victoria Garden Mews, as a model, multifamily, sustainable compound where garden space and socializing are shared amenities. In the article, Dennis Allen – Allen Associates’ founder, project visionary and builder, as well as one of the owners – describes how he invited two sets of close friends to be partners in the project.

January 2012 – One of our recent residential remodels is featured in the Qualified Remodeler Magazine‘s (January 2012) cover story “Creative Spark, A California Remodel Dampens Fire Hazards and Amplifies Living Space” (pages 26 – 29). The story focuses on the fire resistant features added to the structure during the remodel as well as the transformation of the 1950′s Ranch-style house into an bright and airy space with contemporary, clean lines.
Winter Issue 2012 – Food & Home Magazine’s story, “Rising Stars“, highlights how Bryan Henson’s unique experience as a builder and business manager has paved the way for his new role as President of Allen Associates.
Dec/Jan/Feb 2011 – This Seasons Magazine article, From Hope to Home, tells the story of the Schiffer family’s effort to rebuild the home they lost in the Jesusita Fire. August 2011 – Traditional Home Magazine, “New Home: Eco Design Goes Victorian” – This article describes the unique blending of tradtional Victorian design – both inside and out – with the latest in green building features in this LEED for Homes Platinum project in downtown Santa Barbara. February/March 2011 – Santa Barbara Magazine, “At Home on the Range” – This story showcases Rancho Latigo, a new 14,000 sq. ft. home on a 5,000 acre ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley. Allen Associates was the contractor for the project, completed in 2007.
Winter 2011 – Construction Leaders Today, “Globally Grown, Locally Minded” – A story summarizing the evolution of Allen Associates as a company – “one of Southern California’s most successful construction companies.” It emphasizes both our community-minded focus and our green building philosophy as the keys to our success.

April 2, 2009 – Los Angeles Times, Pardon Our Dust Column, “Goleta Home’s Green Remodel Gives Mother & Daughter Space” – This story focuses on the green building goals and features of the Burke whole house remodel completed by Allen Associates. Our company is mentioned as one of the largest and most respected green builders in Santa Barbara.
April 13, 2009 – Santa Barbara News Press, “Green Home Taking Shape, Project Showcases Energy Efficiency, Fire Safety” - Continuing coverage on Allen Associates’ construction of the Green Demonstration Home for Santa Barbara Earth Day 2009. The home, designed by Wade Davis Design, was partially donated to a family on Coyote Road following the Tea Fire.
