Residential Remodel
This project included the whole house remodel of a midsize bungalow originally built in the 1930’s in Santa Barbara’s Upper East neighborhood and a 164 square foot master bathroom addition. Overall the house had the structure and character that was desirable to the client; however, previous partial remodels and outdated design simply stopped short of completing the theme. The client’s goals were to update the home by adding an entry, laundry room, powder room; updating the master bedroom suite with a walk in closet; and adding a full master bathroom where one did not exist before. Energy efficiency improvements included insulation in walls where previously there was none, high performance windows, and an efficient space heating system. (Architect: Kent Mixon)
