A native of Ventura County, Ben graduated from the Construction Apprentice Program at Ventura Community College and embarked on a 20-year career in drywall. In late 2000, Allen Associates pushed Ben out of his comfort zone and in short order had an exemplary project supervisor. In his quiet way, Ben has become a strong advocate of "green building practices." Ben was promoted to the Associate level in 2004 and has distinguished himself in all aspects. One of his projects - the Lois Capps home remodel - received the "2004 Green Builder of the Year" award from the Santa Barbara Contractors Association. In addition, Ben supervises a team of four project managers plus six to eight carpenters, as well as overseeing the operation of Allen Associates' Ventura office.

Relaxation for Ben is cruising with his wife of 27 years, Denise, on his Harley Davidson motorcycle . Ben is the proud father of three children, Ben, Shannon and Stephanie, and grandfather to three grandchildren. But most important he makes a tamale "to die for."
