Jed is an excellent project supervisor, a quality craftsman, and a true people person. His experience has been in ground up construction, scheduling and overseeing trade contractors, interfacing with clients, architects, and vendors, reviewing bid packages, and effectively managing project budgets. Two of his recently completed projects are the construction of a new guest house in Ennisbrook and a large remodel/addition for a home in the hedgerow district of Montecito.
Prior to joining Allen Associates, Jed was the Vice President of Operations for his family’s construction business, Harpster Construction. During his seven years with Harpster Construction, Jed was responsible for overseeing the new construction and remodel of quality, multi-million dollar custom homes, from inception to completion. Jed’s prior work includes the construction of a new $2.8 million home on Shepherd Mesa Drive where recycled 200 year old barn wood was used for the interior and exterior finishes. Other projects have varied from beach house remodels at Rincon Point to 6,000 sq. ft. ranches in Ellwood Canyon.
After graduating from Santa Barbara High School, Jed went on to get his degree from Stanford University, with a major in Human Biology and a minor in Business Management. At Stanford, he was head manager for the men’s basketball team and spent most of his summers working with kids and backpacking through the Sierras.
