Jim joined the Allen Associates’ team in 2003 and was promoted to Associate in 2006.  He is known by his clients for being a great communicator, even tempered, and having a “can do” attitude.

One of Jim’s recent projects, a whole house remodel in the San Roque neighborhood, won the Best Green Residential Project award from the Santa Barbara Contractors Association.  Another project, a whole house remodel of a Craftsman style home, received a regional Chrysalis Award, an award that honors talent, creativity and professionalism within the remodeling industry.  Jim exemplifies all of these traits.  In 2005, Jim received the Allen Associates’ Green Innovator Award, which is given to the employee who leads in incorporating green practices and materials, above and beyond standard company practices, into his or her projects. 

Prior to joining Allen Associates, Jim worked for 14 years as an estimator and project manager with a large construction firm, building high end, multi-family residential projects in the Southern California area.  Jim has also been self-employed, remodeling homes in Southern California and Oregon.  Jim graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics.   He is an avid skier and mountain biker.  He also enjoys spending time with his family in Vail and Madison, Wisconsin (where he was born and raised).
